What We Believe
The Bible
We believe the Bible is the divinely inspired word of God without mans thoughts or interpretations. God used holy men to pen down the 66 books without error or contradiction. We believe the King James Version Bible is the closest translation to the original transcripts. The King James Version is a literal word for word translation. When the translators had to add words for sentence structure, they are in italics. Most other translations are thought-for-thought translations. They add, change, and subtract to make the verse say what they “thought” it should be interpreted to say. For instance, the Preface to the NIV says, “…they have striven for more than a word-for-word translation…” (2 Peter 1:20-21, John 17:17, Psalms 12:6, 2 Timothy 3:16, Proverbs 30:5-6, Romans 15:4, 1 Corinthians 10:11, Revelation 22:18-19, Deuteronomy 4:2, Psalms 119:105, Isaiah 34:16).

Salvation
We believe that a person is saved solely by the grace of God and not by what that person does or has to do (Ephesians 2:8-9, Galatians 2:16, 2 Timothy 1:9). We believe that God elected and chose, in the eternal counsel of the Holy Trinity, some people to eternal salvation. We believe he did this from the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:4-5, Romans 8:28-30, Romans 9:11, 1 Peter 1:2, Revelation 17:8). We believe that this election was free in God and was done for His own pleasure, not for any or with reference to any foreseen works of faith by a dead alienated sinner (2 Timothy 1:9). We believe that all people, until they are quickened (made alive) are dead and alienated from God by their own trespasses and sin, and by the sin of Adam (the natural father of us all) (Romans 5:12, 1 Corinthians 15:21-22). We believe that a dead alienated sinner is totally depraved from the Spirit of God (being dead) and thus can only live in the flesh which cannot please God (1 Corinthians 2:14). But when God quickens that person, God gives him a measure of Faith and calls him with an effectual calling (Ephesians 1:18, Romans 12:3). This Faith is from Christ and not from ourselves (Galatians 2:16, Galatians 5:22). It is with that measure of Faith that the person accepts Christ as the Lord of his life and picks up his own cross and follows Jesus. We also believe that making our calling and election sure is a duty that demands and deserves our utmost diligence (2 Peter 1:10).

Lord's Supper
We believe in the observance of The Lords Supper as a reminder of the Sacrifice Christ gave. The service is set aside only for Church members. It includes taking of unleavened bread to represent Christ’s body, unfermented wine (fruit of the vine) to represent the blood Christ shed for His people, and washing the saints feet to represent the humility Christ shown while He was on the Earth. (John 13:4-17, Luke 22:17-20, Matthew 26:26-29, Mark 14:22-25).

The Sabbath
We believe the Sabbath is the first day of the week and is to be set apart from the other days of the week and to be kept sacred and holy for religious purposes, by abstaining from secular work (when at all possible) and worldly recreations. Some people will argue that the Sabbath should fall on the seventh day of the week. But when God gave Moses the Ten Commandments, he stated that “six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day (Exodus 35:2)”. It does not say that the Sabbath should fall on the seventh day of the calendar week, but that for six days work shall be done and on the seventh day shall be a holy day of rest. In western society, people normally go to work on the second day of the calendar week (Monday) and seven days from Monday is Sunday. We find in Acts 20:7 an early account of this practice. It states “And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them”. (Exodus 20:8, Exodus 34:21, Isaiah 58:13-14, Exodus 31:15).

Christ's Second Coming
We believe in the Pre millennial (Christ will return before the millennial reign - Revelation 20:1-6) / post tribulation (Christ will not return and his people will not be raptured up until the end of the 7 years tribulation – Mark 13:30, Matthew 24:29-31) return of Christ. At the end of the seven years tribulation and after Christ’s return on earth, all of God’s family (elect) will be gathered from the four corners of the earth and will be carried to the Mount of Olives to be judged for every deed done in the body. After judgment, Christ will set up His kingdom here on earth for 1000 years.

God The Father, God The Son, God The Holy Spirit
We believe that God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are separate entities but all agree in one.

God the Father

We believe that God is sovereign (Romans 9:21, Jeremiah 18:6, Revelation 1:8, Isaiah 46:10, Deuteronomy 4:35). He is Omnipotent (all powerful) (1 Chronicles 29:12, Psalms 59:13, Job 42:2, Psalms 115:3, Matthew 19:26, Luke 1:37, 1 Samuel 2:6-8), Omnipresent (always present)(Proverbs 15:3, Deuteronomy 4:39, Psalms 33:13-14, Psalms 139:9, Jeremiah 23:24), and Omniscient (all knowing) (Job 34:21, John 16:30). We believe that God is a Spirit (John 4:24) and this is the image in which He created man (Genesis 1:27). He is loving (1 John 4:7-8, 2 Corinthians 13:11, Romans 8:37-39, Jeremiah 31:3), forgiving (1 John 1:9, 2 Chronicles 7:14, Psalms 103:3, Psalms 130:4), merciful (Romans 9:15-16, Ephesians 2:4, Joel 2:13, Lamentations 3:22-23), but He is also a jealous God, and a consuming fire (Deuteronomy 4:24, Deuteronomy 9:3, Hebrews 12:29). He chastens those that He loves and pours out His wrath onto the Children of disobedience (Deuteronomy 8:5, Colossians 3:6, Hebrews 12:5-6, Revelation 3:19, Numbers 14:18).

God the Son

Christ mission the first time He came was to save the His people (John 12:47, Matthew 1:21, Hebrews 1:3). We believe He completed His mission fully by saving everyone that God gave Him (John 6:37-39). He did this by freely shedding His own blood to wash us from our sins. We believe that He was without sin while He was on the Earth, but became sin so that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. Christ left us a perfect example of how God’s Children should conduct themselves daily. He was able to do this because He always done the things that pleased the Father (John 8:29).

God the Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit came to guide His children into all Truth (John 14:26, John 15:26-27, John 16:13, 1 John 2:27, 1 John 5:6, Luke 12:12). Once a person has been quickened, the Spirit begins to guide and direct them into the Truth (1 Corinthians 2:9-16). It is through this Spirit dwelling in us that we are able to produce Godly fruit in life (Galatians 5:22-23, John 15:5, 16, Colossians 1:9-10).

Depravity of Man
We believe in the total depravity of man. There is no good or righteousness found in the natural man (flesh) neither can it understand spiritual things (Psalms 39:5, Isaiah 64:6, Genesis 6:5, Romans 3:10-18, Job 15:16, Psalms 14:3, 1 Corinthians 2:14, John 8:43-47). We believe that by Adam’s sin, all men died spiritually and became alienated from God (Romans 5:12, 1 Corinthians 15:21-22). And because we are alienated from God and dead in our trespasses and sin, it is only by being quickened (or regenerated) that God’s Children can do anything that pleases Him (Ephesians 2:1,5, Colossians 2:13). Once a child of God is born of the Spirit of God, they then have the ability to choose whether or not to follow after the Spirit and do those things which please Him or after the flesh and do those things which do not please Him. Our choices will then result in blessings or curses (chastisement) from God. A blessing if we keep God’s commandments and a curse if we do not. (Deuteronomy 11:26-28, Deuteronomy 30:19, Deuteronomy 28, Hebrews 12:6, Matthew 5:3-11, Luke 12:47-48).
